History

It is a residential hamlet (unincorporated community) located in the pine barrens in the northeast corner of Babylon. In 1610, Jacob Conklin settled in Halfway Hollow Hills, later known as Wheatley Heights.

In 1853, Charles Wilson started the modern Deer Park 11 years after the Long Island Rail Road arrived. He started a large and productive farm in the area.
